Born in Castellon (Spain) in 1986. Currently based in Madrid.

Clarinetist Raul Traver is one of the most promising clarinetists of his generation. He has been winner and awarded in fourteen international and national competitions and has performed concerts in the most important concert halls in Spain, United Kingdom, France, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, China, Mongolia and the United States.

Raul is developing an important role as a concertist. Recently, his playing of Mozart and Weber Clarinet Concertos has been listened in Spain and United States and had been described as:

In 2017 January, Raul made his solo debut at the National Concert Hall in Madrid and in April 2017 at National Concert Hall, Chamber Music Hall. He has also made the world premieres of different pieces both in solo and chamber music like Oscar Senen´s Clarinet Concerto Nº1, “Dreams of Peace” clarinet Concerto by Jose Ignacio Blesa, “Beyond the Music” for string quartet and clarinet by Julio Domingo and the septet Sound Spaces for Cervantes, world premiere at the International Music Festival “New Music Festival” in Louisville, United States.

Raul Traver is invited by different Universities and Institutions as professor and artist like in the United States the Valley Utah University of Performings Arts, Utah State University, Snow Academy Music Center, Brigham Young University, University of Louisville, Tuacahn Summer Arts Institute: International Summer Music Festival, New Music Festival and in Europe Ioannina School of Music (Greece), Eduardo Ocon International Festival (Malaga) Daniel Fortea International Festival (Castellon) Beyond the Music International Festival and Master Classes (Huesca) Medinacelli International Festival (Soria) Interlaken-Classics International Festival (Switzerland)

He has been jury member in different competitions like at “Enkor International Soloist Competition” in Dusseldorf, Germany, “Enkor Chamber Music Competition, Youth Castellon Symphony Orchestra and Korea International Young Artist Competition.

Committed to chamber music, he has been selected by the Artist Society and Performers of Spain, AIE, participating in its "classical route" cycle. He has had the opportunity to perform numerous concerts with artists from the Queen Sophia School of Music and performing for Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain at the Palacio Del Pardo in Madrid.

His orchestral experience includes the Castellon Youth Symphony Orchestra, Camerata and Symphony Orchestra from Queen Sophia School of Music, Madrid Virtuosi Philharmonic Orchestra, Zakhar Bron Chamber Orchestra, Santa Cecilia Orchestra conducted among others by Zubin Mehta, Daniel Barenboim, Jaime Martin, Peter Ründel, Ros Marba, Zakhar Bron, Kynan Johns, Grzegorz Nowak, Ken - David Masur.

Raul has collaborated with eminent artist such as Zakhar Bron, Krystian Zimerman, Gordan Nikolic, Guy Braustein, Vadim Repin, Maxim Vengerov, Natalia Gutman, Oleh Krysa among others. In 2014 he won the clarinet auditions at the Jordanian National Orchestra as principal clarinet. In 2015 he is appointed principal clarinet at Santa Cecilia Classic Orchestra (Resident at Spanish National Concert Hall). He is invited as principal clarinet at Moscow City Philarmonic Orchestra.

As a clarinet professor, from 2014 to 2017 has been clarinet, chamber music and orchestral repertoire clarinet professor at Castilla - La Mancha Superior Conservatory of Music. His students have been winners and prized in national and international competitions such as the National Competition “Intercentros” Madrid in the Superior category, Castellnovo National Competition, International Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California, Castellon Youth Orchestra Valencian Community Youth Orchestra, Andalucia Youth Orchestra, Madrid Youth Symphonic Orchestra, Korea International Young Artist Competition among others. Since 2017 he is a clarinet, chamber music and orchestral clarinet repertoire professor at Superior Music Center Progreso Musical in Madrid.

He has been recognized by institutions such as Albeniz Foundation, IVM - Valencian Music Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh and the University of Southern California - Thornton School of Music.

He began his clarinet studies at 9 years old. He has participated in clarinet master classes with many of the leading professors of today, as Yehuda Gilad, Sabine Meyer, Venancio Rius

Raul is graduated with honors from the Castellon Superior Music Conservatory, in 2009 he was invited by Professor Yehuda Gilad to study with him at the University of Southern California - Thornton School of Music, Los Angeles. In 2012 he finished his studies at Queen Sophia School of Music with Professor Michel Arrignon and at Madrid International Chamber Music Institute with Professors Hansjorg Schellenberger, Klaus Thuneman, Eduard Bruner, Radovan Vlatković, Jacques Zoon and Pamela Frank.

Raul Traver is a Siverstein Pro Team artist. This year highlights include a CD recording with Debussy works, a solo concert with London&Viena Kammerorchester at Spanish National Concert Hall.
