The elementary music education provides the students with an integral artistic formation through the
development of their personality and sensitivity in the musical field, oriented to the achievement of 3 functions: formative, orienting and preparatory
for later studies.
The Elementary Teaching is made up of 4 courses.
During the first 2 courses the following subjects are taught:
- Instrument: Individual class to choose between piano, guitar, accordion, string (violin, viola, cello, double bass)
and wind (flute, flute, trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, bassoon, horn). Duration: 1 hour per week.
- Musical Language: Class in a group divided into theory, intonation and dictation.
From the 3rd and 4th year the subject of Coro is added: group class of 1 hour per week.
The Curriculum of the Elemental Music Teachings was established in Royal Decree 756/92 of June 26.
This musical education lasts for 4 years, divided into 2 cycles.
The students can specialize in:
Accordion, Clarinet, Bassoon, Flute, Pico Flute, Guitar, Flamenco Guitar, Oboe, Percussion, Piano, Saxophone, Trombone, Horn, Trumpet, Tuba,
Viola, Violin and Violoncello.
In the first and second elementary school course, the students will attend the Instrument and Musical Language classes; while in 3rd and 4th, they will have to add, to those, the subject of Coro.
At the end of the 4 years of elementary music education, reaching the proposed objectives, the students will receive a Certificate of Accreditation of the teachings taken.
To access Elementary Education, both for first-year students and other courses, it will be necessary to pass a specific test through which the applicant must
demonstrate that they have the knowledge and skills necessary to take advantage of these lessons.
