David Moliner


David Moliner Andrés was born on May 23, 1991. Valencian musician, born in Castellón de la Plana and a multi-faceted artist, he combines solo percussion with composition, both at a high level.

His compositional aesthetics is centered on the exploitation of drama, the musician as expressive; an area of avant-garde creation that stands out mainly in Berlin and Paris (centers of European artistic gravitation), and is on its way to becoming entrenched in the rest of Europe, including Spain.

He studied composition at the Conservatory "Salvador Seguí" in Castellón de la Plana with Voro García. In Madrid he expanded his composition studies with José Luís Tora and Alberto Posadas, as well as in the Haute École de Musique de Genève, (Geneva), with Michael Jarrell and in Paris with Pascal Dusapin, with whom he considers his true mentor. Afterwards, he completed his studies at the UDK Berlin, completing his composition studies with Elena Mendoza.

He has been commissioned as the trio for piano, clarinet and oboe, (Impromptu No. 2), the CSMC percussion ensemble under the composer's lead, (Sinfonia Concertante), the ensemble of the winds of the CSM, Basel, (Inventio No.2), a flute and saxophone duo and a trio for bassoon, cello and percussion, whose interpreters are: Lorelai Dowling, (member of the Klangforum de Wien), Pierre Strauch (member of the Ensemble Intercontemporain of Paris) and Christian Dierstein, member of Ensemble Reserché in Freiburg). Also noteworthy are orders for the Ensemble 20/21 of the JORCAM, in the “Teatros del Canal” (Madrid) and the “Mostra Sonora de Sueca” (Valencia) 2016, with Jordi Francés. Other commissions were the director Michel Spotti, (pupil of Ricardo Mutti). He has also been invited and programmed by ESPAI SONOR, together with the music of Héctor Parra, Olga Neuwrith, Voro García, Alberto Posadas, Aureliano Cattaneo ... concerts in Bilbao, (festival of BBVA), and Valencia (ENSEMS festival). International Festival, Music Congress of Porto, (Essenz Duo), Carlos Tena and Maria Dolores Revilla. Mexico Arts Festival, (Contemporary Music Sax) Bern, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castellón, Orquesta Sinfónica de Valencia, Deutsches Symphonischer Orchestra, Daniel Barenboim Akademie-Foundation Berlin, Klangzeitort Berlín between others. His music has been played in Mexico, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, America, Estonia and Austria.

As a percussionist / freelance artist he has given numerous perforrmances and concerts over Europe and he has won the Vibraphone Italy World Competition, (ItalyPas); he also has won several prizes, such as the Composition Prize Dávalos Fletcher, III Prize for music and composition Moros d'Alqueria and COMPOSITION STIPENDIUM-PRIZE UNIVERSITÄT DER KÜNSTE BERLIN (2016) between others. His music has been performed in Spain, Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, coming soon in the United States and Portugal.

Also his music has been well appreciated by musicians such as: Arditti String Quartet, Ensemble Recherche, Juanjo Guillem, Jordi Francés, Michael Jarrell, Frank Bedrossiaen, Pascal Dusapin, Elena Mendoza, Klanfgorum Wien, Intercontemporain Ensemble, Miquel Bernat, Miguel Romea, Semyon Bychkov, Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Dudamel, Ricardo Muti, Sir Simon Rattle and musicians of the Berliner Philarmoniker, among others.

He also gives masterclasses of composition/percussion and theater around Europe in music universities such as: Centro Superior Musikene, Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Universität der Künste Berlin and Hochschule für Musik und Theater München between other ones.

His works are published by the publisher of Paris BabelScores and he is an exclusive percussion artist of Adams Holland Percussion. He is also professor of harmony, history of music, auditory education and improvisation at the higher level in Centro Superior Progreso Musical Madrid and professor of Dramatic Art applied to the soloist performance in the level of masters in Centro Superior “Katarina Gurska” of Madrid.
